FROZEN EMBRYO TRANSFER (FET)

A common and often needed fertility solution

Schedule Your Appointment
FET is a procedure which transfers a previously cryopreserved (frozen) embryo into a woman’s uterus. The process involves carefully thawing the embryo(s) in a laboratory setting, preparing the woman’s uterine lining with hormone treatments to help ensure acceptance, and then placing the embryo into the uterus.

FET provides potentially multiple opportunities to use a patient’s or donor’s frozen embryos providing increased chances for pregnancy.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FAQ

What is a Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET)?

A Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) is a process in which a patient’s or donor’s frozen embryos are thawed and then transferred into the woman’s uterus.

How long can the embryos stay frozen for?

Current evidence shows the embryos can stay frozen for more than 20 years while retaining the potential for a successful transfer.

What happens if I don’t use my embryos?

We store your embryos in our onsite, safe and secure vault for as long as needed. They are only removed at your explicit instruction.

Does freezing harm the embryos?
Incinta’s world class fertility laboratory and secure storage solutions results in nearly all embryos surviving the freezing process.
When can I do an FET cycle?
A woman can undergo FET procedures multiple times, as long as she has viable embryos available and her health permits. The frequency of FET cycles depends on several factors, including the woman’s age, overall health, the thickness and receptivity of her uterine lining, and how her body responds to the hormonal preparations used to support the procedure. Typically, a woman may have a FET cycle every 4 to 6 weeks, allowing time for her body to recover between attempts.
