Omid A. Khorram, MD

Reproductive Endocrinologist & Infertility

Omid A. Khorram, MD, is a Professor in Residence of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UCLA and director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

Dr. Khorram completed his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of California, Berkeley. He continued his studies at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School where he obtained a Ph.D. in Physiology. He received the Nominata Award at the University of Texas for the most outstanding graduate student. After one year of postdoctoral studies, he continued his education at Texas Tech School of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas where he received a Doctor of Medicine with honors in 1989. Dr. Khorram completed his internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California at San Francisco in 1993, and a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of California at San Diego.
Following his fellowship, Dr. Khorram became a faculty member of the University of Wisconsin in Madison where he was promoted to associate professor and the director of Reproductive Endocrinology. Dr. Khorram helped establish one of the most successful ART programs in the Midwest and was named the best infertility specialist by his peers in Madison. Dr. Khorram moved to California in 2000 and assumed the position of Director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

From 2000-2006, he provided fertility care through the Harbor-UCLA Faculty Practice Plan. In 2006 he established the University Fertility Center and University Fertility Laboratory, a free-standing center providing comprehensive, world-class fertility services including artificial insemination, In vitro Fertilization, ICSI, donor egg IVF, surrogacy, donor embryos, oocyte and embryo cryopreservation and pre-implantation genetic diagnosis and screening.

Dr. Khorram is an active investigator who authored over 80 original research publications in peer-reviewed journals. He’s earned several awards including the Sigma Xi award for research, the Berlex Scholar Award, the Ortho ACOG award, the James Kennedy Award, and the Ames Broen Award for teaching. His research has been supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the American Heart Association.
His clinical interests are in Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART), recurrent pregnancy loss, endometriosis, and polycystic ovary syndrome. He has special expertise in advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic techniques and microsurgery. Dr. Khorram is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. Khorram is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
